NxtDocument Studio

Free, open-source, and built for AI workflows

NxtDocument Studio is the open, standalone blueprint builder spun out of the NxtDocument ecosystem. It exists so anyone — solo builders, teams, students — can design rigorous AI-ready document templates without an enterprise stack.

What it is

A blueprint builder for AI-ready documents

NxtDocument Studio lets you define document blueprints — portable specifications that describe sections, fields, QC rules, references, and the output schema your LLM workflows should produce.

Export a blueprint as JSON or Markdown, plug it into any agent or pipeline, and you get consistent, validated documents every time.

Why open source

Built in the open, owned by you

Document specifications shouldn't be locked behind a SaaS. NxtDocument Studio is free, MIT licensed, and self-hostable — so your blueprints are yours forever.

Open by default

MIT licensed. Fork it, ship it, make it yours.

Local-first

Your blueprints live in your browser. No accounts, no tracking, no servers.

AI-native primitives

Sections, QC rules, references, schemas — exactly what LLM workflows need.

Community-driven

A living gallery of blueprints contributed by practitioners.

What data is stored locally

Your browser, your data

Everything you create in the Studio stays in your browser via localStorage. Nothing is sent to a server. There is no account system. There is no telemetry.

  • Saved blueprints (titles, sections, fields)
  • QC checklists and reference requirements
  • Output schema preferences
  • UI preferences like the active blueprint

Clearing your browser storage will delete your blueprints. Use Export to back them up as JSON, then re-import any time.
